10 Years On & Still Going Strong
Suncourt Hotel & Conference Centre have just celebrated the 10th Anniversary of ownership by Trish & John Funnell. A number of invited guests came along and enjoyed an evening of drinks & nibbles, catching up with familiar faces from days gone by and were treated to a video of the last 10 years.
A lot of time & money has been put back into the business over the last 10 years with many major refurbishments taking place, both externally & internally. Trish & John Funnell are local identities that also own Helicopter Services, Taupo Tandem Skydive and interests in Experience Taupo as well as a number of other local businesses. They also have strong ties with the Westpac Rescue helicopter.

Suncourt Supports Nigel Anderson
The Suncourt Hotel is getting right behind New Zealand's Masterchef and Suncourt’s very own Nigel Anderson who has been chosen to compete in this internationally renowned competition!

New Qualmark Rating
Congratulations to the team at Suncourt Hotel for achieving the 4 star Qualmark rating recently. The hotel has undergone some major changes in the last two years, from service, training, refurbishment and the introduction of a completely new Management Team; bringing years of experience and knowledge.

Taupo Wedding Show
Vicky King-Stevens (Sales & Marketing) and Charlie Anderson (Conference Co-Ordinator) represented Suncourt Hotel at the annual Taupo Wedding Show. Crowds of excited brides-to-be were given the opportunity to check out a variety of businesses, all under one roof, for their special day.
Leads from the day have been very good and the exposure Suncourt Hotel and Conference Centre received was fabulous.
The Bride of Year Show was also a huge hit on the day with over 20 entrants this year. Well done to Taupo Parents Centre for all the hard work putting the event together.

Meetings 2009
New Zealand’s largest conference and incentive tradeshow was held at Sky City this year and was attended by Suncourt Hotel’s Sales & Marketing Manager and Conference Co-ordinator.
Although the Tradeshow was considerably quieter than last year, the quality of buyers was extremely good. Six properties from the Taupo region exhibited at the event and did the region proud.

Taupo Wild Food Show
Suncourt Hotel’s Sous Chef, Dallas Watson, recently took part at the Taupo Wild Food Show held at the Event Centre in the ‘Cook Off segment’.
Thousands of people frequented the event and it was a fabulous opportunity for Dallas to show off her culinary skills and the Barbary Duck dish, which, by the way, is on our Autumn Menu!
The audience were encouraged to sample the dish and it gave the crowd the opportunity to see exactly how the experts put the dish together from start to finish. We would encourage you to go along next year as the event is growing steadily from year to year.
